May 1 – May 31 2008 Annual Student Art Show.  Stowe Elementary, Middle and High Schools with guest exhibitors, Hyde Park Elementary and Orchard Valley School.  

May 16: Deadline for Artists to apply to be in The New Taste of Stowe Arts Festival

JUNE

June 19: Summer Stowe Arts Movement Session Begins!

June 20 -  August 30: Rafael Cauduro: Sin Fronteras (No Boundaries). Rafael Cauduro: Sin Fronteras Opening Reception: June 20  5:30 – 7:30pm. Gallery talk and exhibit tour preceeds the opening reception. Exhibit curated by Idoline Duke. Large paintings by renowned Mexican muralist, Rafael Cauduro, www.cauduro.com. Mexican delicacies from Frida's Restaurant and music by Dov Schiller's Latin Trio.

June 20 - August 30: East Gallery, Ceramic Artist, Cristina Pellechio and Painter, Esme Thompson in a lively exploration of color, pattern and form. www.esmethompson.com Opening Reception: June 20  5:30-7:30pm

June 24: Curator's Tour of the Exhibition: 10am for Docents, Gallery Greeters, and Members.

June 28: Rafael Cauduro: Sin Fronteras Family Day, 1-3pm. Latin music, games, and mural making.

JULY

July 8 – 10: Bus Trip to Quebec City

July 11 – Oct. 11: EXPOSED! 2008 Outdoor Exhibition. The Helen Day Art Center, in Stowe, Vermont.  Curated by Meg McDevitt. Walkable outdoor sculpture exhibition on the Helen Day lawn and throughout the village of Stowe. Opening Reception and Walkabout: July 11,  5 - 7pm

July 16: La Fiesta de la Bella Lengua (Party of the Beautiful Language) Potluck: 6-9:30pm. An evening of art, Spanish conversation and dance. (Can you say "hola?" Then you're welcome!) Zuma! Latin Dance Celebration to follow, 9-9:30pm, led by Julie Roick and Idoline Duke. For more info call Anahi at HDAC.

July 25, 26, 27: The New Taste of Stowe Arts Festival. Helen Day Art Center and Craftproducers are once again combining forces to create a premier Stowe Summer Event. Tastes of food from local restaurants and live entertainment to complement this three day celebration of the Arts. At Topnotch Field in Stowe - featuring over 120 fine artists and craftspeople, complimented by local cuisine, Fri-Sun 10am-5pm

July 31: 6pm, East Gallery Artist's Talk: Ceramic Artist, Cristina Pellechio and Painter, Esme Thompson. Refreshments.

AUGUST

August 10:  Helen Day BBQ and Stowe Summer Music Festival Kick-off. Afternoon, Helen Day Lawn. Spirited music by Mexico's leading brass quintet, Metales M5. Food, refreshments and Stowe Arts Movement Student Art Exhibit. Free

August 16: 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Conversation with Manelick de la Parra about Rafael Cauduro's show.

August 30:  Rafael Cauduro: Sin Fronteras Closes

 

SEPTEMBER

September 19-November 22:  Made In China. Curated by Jacquie Levin-Mauer and Lillian Mauer.  Contemporary Chinese Art.  Opening reception: September 19, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Opening reception: September 19, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. Join us for a guided tour with China specialist Taliesin Thomas6:30 p.m.: Performance by Jing Ji, accompanied by Catherine Orr


September 20, 1:00PM – 4:00PM: Family Day! Free fun for the whole family! Practice Tai Chi with John Di Carlo, learn the ancient art of Chinese calligraphy and brush painting and enjoy the artwork in the galleries!
