| Basics of Wheel Throwing |
Adults ages 16 & up 3 day workshop Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday, 6:00-8:30pm August 9, 10 & 11 |

Introducing the wheel! Learn how to center clay and make small vessels such as cups, bowls and vases on a potter’s wheel. Become proficient at throwing basic shapes so you can use these skills to create more complex forms later. Basic glazing techniques and an introduction to the kiln will also be discussed. This workshop will be held at the NEW Clay Studio on corner of School Street and Main Street. There is a maximum of 4 students, so sign up now!!! Supplies provided.

Adults ages 16 & up 3 day workshop following Basics of Wheel Throwing Thursday, Friday & Saturday, 6:00-8:30pm August 12, 13 & 14 |

Fine tune your wheel throwing techniques and explore hand building. You’ll feel like you’re playing with Play Dough again, create uniform slabs with a roller and pushing clay through an extruder. Both processes will be taught so that techniques can be combined to produce more exciting shapes and vessels. We will also talk about trimming, glazing, decoration, and firing with a kiln. Previous wheel throwing experience required! This workshop will be held at the NEW Clay Studio on corner of School Street and Main Street. There is a maximum of 4 students, so sign up now!!! Beginning with the basics and moving towards the sublime, students will explore the popular and free 3-D modeling software Google Sketch-up. During each of these four sessions architect Harry Hunt will introduce a new set of powerful modeling and rendering tools. Students completing the course will find themselves on the cusp of an entirely new world of powerful design communication capabilities. World renowned oil painter, Michael Dudash comes to Stowe! Join us for this three day intensive workshop where you will be inspired by Michael’s talent, insight into the creative process and lengthy experience in all areas of the art world. Improve your painting with exercises on composition and design, value, color, having a “plan” when you paint, and use of materials. Each day will focus on a different subject - landscape, still-life, and painting from a live model. Discussions will also include marketing and the sale of your artwork. Students are welcomed to bring in samples of their work for individual portfolio critiques. Medium to accomplished skill level is required to take advantage of the approaches covered in this workshop. Bring your own easel and materials (paper towels provided).
